Privacy policy
Overview
BioSked, Inc., (“BIOSKED”), is committed to protecting the privacy and security of its clients, partners, and associates and therefore operates under a set of strict privacy principles.
BIOSKED complies with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union and/or Switzerland to the United States. BIOSKED is in the processes of certifying to the Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles. If there is any conflict between the terms in this privacy policy and the Privacy Shield Principles, the Privacy Shield Principles shall govern. What Information is Collected
No personal information is collected by BIOSKED for any purpose except as listed below:
(a) IP Addresses (Server Log Information)
- In some cases we may collect IP addresses in order to detect unauthorized access attempts and control system access security. An IP address is a number automatically assigned to your computer whenever you access the Internet. All computer identification on the Internet is conducted with IP addresses, which allow computers and servers to recognize and communicate with each other.
(b) Registration (User-Supplied Information)
- Users accessing customer support via our on-line support web site are required to give BIOSKED contact information such as their name and e-mail address, and demographic information such as a ZIP code, organization and/or role. The user’s contact information is used to contact the user when necessary. Personally Identifiable Information will not be disclosed.
No other data is disclosed except as required in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. However, should this policy ever change in the future, BIOSKED would offer individuals the opportunity to choose (opt-out) whether their personal information is (i) to be disclosed to a third party or (ii) to be used for a purpose materially different from the purposes for which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized by the individual. Individuals would be provided a clear, conspicuous and readily available mechanism to exercise choice. BIOSKED accepts that they could be liable in cases of onward transfer to third parties.
In addition, note that BIOSKED provides its clients with services that involve it processing personal data on its client’s behalf, such as where it provides remote hosting, system monitoring, system trouble-shooting, data warehousing and application management services. In this capacity, BIOSKED does not own or control the personal data it processes, but rather its client does. In this capacity, BIOSKED receives and processes personal data merely as a “data processor” on behalf of its client. In such situations, BIOSKED often has no contact with the individuals to whom such personal data relates and so is dependent upon its client to comply with applicable Personal Privacy, HIPAA, EU and/or Swiss data protection law at the time that the personal data is originally collected or received by its client.
In compliance with the Privacy Shield Principles, BIOSKED commits to resolve complaints about our collection or use of your personal information. EU individuals with inquiries or complaints regarding our Privacy Shield policy should first contact BioSked:
